Hi Folks, welcome to my channel.
My name is Duane Suter and I make woodturning and resin creations.
I am completely new to Woodturning, but have such a passion for it, that I decided to take the plunge and build my own woodturning workshop called "The Cave Workshop".
The videos I will be posting will be of me learning how to create things, so you will see all my successes, mistakes and failures.

Hi Folks. So I decided to ebonize a bowl, but rather than use dye, I burned the wood instead. Very hazardous project, but I think it turned out very well..... and I managed to keep my eyebrows!!!

Hi Folks. So I had a large 12" bowl blank that didn't really fit on my lathe. It took some doing, because it was also out of shape, which caused some serious vibrations when turning. As a result, I had to keep the RPM fairly low.

Hi Folks. I was asked recently to make a Spurtle for a friend. So I decided to make a video about it. I thought a spindle blank of Utile Wood would be an ideal wood to use, and I wasn't wrong. The finish looks amazing. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Folks. So I have finally managed to resurrect a previous project that went wrong, and turned it into a Lego Harry Potter Prophecy Egg. This was a really interesting an fun project to do, and I am really please with the results. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Folks. For this project I wanted to see if I could create a different type of shape within the bowl. So a dipping bowl seemed to be a good idea. It ended up being a little bit challenging, a few catches caused a bit of trouble, bit I managed to over come it. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Folks. I wanted to do something a little bit different for this project. So I decided to turn a wide rimmed bowl. I initially also wanted to stain the wood, but after shaping it and then sanding and finishing, I saw that the wood grain of the Tulipwood was too beautiful to hide. Hope you like the end result.

Hi folks. This is my first attempt at ebonizing a bowl. I used Tulipwood, so that the ebonizing would take nicely. I also used brown Oak for the inside of the bowl. I think the contrast works very well.
